I have spent some time reading the article from Tony Webb regarding midget car racing at Brisbane's Exhibition Speedway in 1935-36 and find the references to Jean Reville very interesting. I also was surprised to read that he got married in Australia because according to this site section he had married in the UK and I cannot see any reference there to him ever having been divorced from his English wife. What I will see the Tony Webb article is very informative and although I'm not interested in motorcycle speedway as such it was good to note that midget car was even then regarded as a speedway-type sport and not part of the smal oval-stock car racing community as it has sadly become in the UK over the past 40 years. In so far as the rest of the world's major speedway countries are conerned i.e Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, there is no doubt that in these countries midget car racing is very much part of the speedway framework.

It is interesting what you say in regard to midget car racing and its links with speedway. There is said to be a long-standing ban - I've never seen actual evidence - that both formulas cannot take place at the same meeting. But the answer is quite simple for them to take place on the same day. All that is needed is for the speedway match to be officially ended after its last race, and declared so by the official in charge of the meeting. This can then be followed by a second meeting just for midget cars with the formula's own official in charge of their races - maybe two heats with at least six FRONT engine cars? Only snag would be to ensure with actual council rules on regard to curfew times there would be enough time to get through two races - say a maximum of 30 minutes? Could it be done. According to the article from Tony Webb midget cars did race in Australia at the same meeting but studying the results only four cars were in a race.

That is an interesting comment in regard to Jean Reville's marriage in Australia. As asked - "what happened to the wife he was wed to in England?"
