Not sure where to post tbis, I am sure our leader will put it in the right place, but I would like to know where these drivers were racing in the early 1960s, and what type of Midgets were used.......

Mike Parker ran some mixed meetings - solo bikes, sidecars and midgets (presumably Parker midgets!) - in 1964. These drivers may have raced at them, although I think speedway riders like Jack Winstanley, Graham Beattie and Ken Vale also drove in these events. Odd to see the name of Dave Hughes - although I know he did drive in a few meetings in a Parker, one meeting was earlier in the decade - at Leicester - and promoted by speedway rider Ron Wilson, who also drove a midget. Like Dave, Ron was also involved in the ill-fated 1951-52 Midland Midget Car League venture. The latter a great idea - but not to stage it in December and January on shale tracks!! What a temptation for bad weather that all was.
