Hi there, just wondering if there is any more information on the site of 1952 midget car racing, in particular at Plymouth? Any descriptions, race programmes, lists of drivers, photographs anything at all. Also is there an official list of these 1952 drivers anywhere?

If there was midget car action in Plymouth in 1952 - and it's a new concept for me - I think drivers would have been the then usual Dave Hughes' Skirrow squad.

Any descriptions, race programmes, lists of drivers, photographs anything at all. Also is there an official list of these 1952 drivers anywhere? There was also a second meeting at Pennycross on Boxing Day in 1952 which was reportedly a success: "Norman Street, the 26-year-old St Austell speedway captain, was the outstanding driver at yesterday’s midget car racing staged at Plymouth Sports Stadium Pennycross before a crowd of over 8,000. He clocked the fastest time meeting in 83.2 seconds, was top scorer with a maximum in the South’s 36-23 point win over the North, and won final of the midget cars Silver Trophy knockout competition."

His midget racing participation is documented in reports of the 1952 Boxing Day meeting at Plymouth. Reports however refer to him as L.J. Bueb which we think is a typo (should be I.J.. An archivist tells us that the picture of Bueb which accompanies the report looks very much like him.
