A Skirrow midget has turned up in Canada - not sure where at the moment. It was previously owned by Jody Gertler in the USA. I am certain that this Skirrow may be the one raced by Les White in the UK in the 1930s, and was sold on in the early 1990s by his son Malcolm (?). Is any more known about this particular Skirrow?

HELLO FELLOW ENTHUSIASTS! Yes , I now own this car and am undertaking an engine rebuild. The crank assembly is on it's way to Alpha UK. The engine is actually in remarkably ggod condition. It is an 8/80 alcohol burner with twin Amal track carbs and twin BTH track magnetos. It is interesting in that it has magnesium crankcases which fortunately are in superb condition. The chassis needs a bit of work but the overall patina and "original' paint will be left intact. My only real predicament when it is up and running is where to let it loose? I am thinking of relocating and will be looking for a property with a decent oval dirt track or at least some remote flat property to build one.

Away from your excellent news about the Skirrow, is there any midget car racing in Canada and has there ever been a Canadian National Midget Car Championship?

I have no idea if there is midget car racing here but I will find out. Of course I am only minutes from the New York border and there are certainly many tracks in that state. I seem to recall Utica has a big track
