The most obvious one is "The Long Black Strip" which has action from the first season of Spedeworth Midgets at the 1968 Ipswich British Superstox Championship weekend. You can get the programme, which is about an hour long, from Martin Hunt videos... www.mhvideos.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=169I've just got hold of some cine > DVD of racing at the banked New Brighton circuit which features a couple of minutes of MARC Midgets from 1972. Will be putting details in a later issue of my magazine - Oval Track Classic.

I recently came across a DVD of some 1970s Stock Car (generic term) cine footage on ebay.
Mostly it's the shot at St Day and St Austell featuring BriSCA F2 (incl 72 world final), Production Cars (Hot Rods to us from outside of the south west), Bangers and the West Country Hot Rods which are ironed up monsters. There is also a short piece - about a minute and a half - showing Midgets at St Austell in around 1972. The likes of Pete Smith and Peter Jopp are identifiable amongst all the Dastles. The whole footage is about 45-50 minutes in length and there is an email address at the end: umbongo.ebay@googlemail.com who will probably be happy to sell you a copy if interested.

I paid £4.21 in the bidding system but I am not sure if it would be more or less on a buy now. Quality is what you would expect for cine but not good enough to do any decent screen grabs of the Midgets for my next newsletter. I did not try and get any other screen shots from it.

Has any other member seen this DVD and is it worth getting if you are only interested in midgets - how much actual time do they get in relation to the length of the DVD. Is it still available?

It's not a long clip at all as I stated on the post above - but I'm interested in the other classes on the DVD which in total is nearly an hour. I also posted about it as I thought some of the MARC families on here might have been interested.
