The UK Skirrows raced in Holland in 1946, about October that year. I think there was also a match race between a Dutch speedway rider and a midget driver. I can't seem to find any details of this tour in the electronic article chapters. What's known about this tour - it seems rather soon to have happened after the end of the war.

I see the name of Laurie Maxton is among the drivers who raced in Holland. It has been largely claimed that in the winter of either 1946-47 or of 1947-48 that Maxton went to Australia seeking midget car drives. Did he succeed and if so where did he drive. I believe he was a friend of Walter Mackereth and Frank Chiswell?

There's a Dutch midget car programme on ebay in stock cars at the moment for this meeting which I must presume is the source for the original reference.
