SPEEDWAY CAR RACING THRILLS
The first speedway car racing ever held in Leeds Fullerton Park, last night, provided thrilling sport. The final of the Inverted Handicap produced the finest battle. After fighting his way to the front from the scratch position, Basil de Mattos held on despite strong challenge over the last two laps by Stan Mills. The Leeds track championship was won by Frank Chiswell, who drove in daring manner to head Turvey and Wills.

The first official speedway car match at Fullerton Park, Leeds, last night, provided thrilling racing and the result was in doubt till the last heat of the match. Successive wins by Walter Mackereth, captain of the North team, in the last two heats gave victory to the North by an odd point.
