(text source: Eastbourne Gazette, Wednesday 31 July 1935) DIRT TRACK THRILLS CROWDS SEE MIDGET CAR The first evening meeting at the Dirt Track, Arlington, drew a large crowd of spectators, and it seems that the change in time will be successful In attracting to the track those people who dislike sitting in the full heat of the sun while the races are in progress. The midget car racing, an event new to the Arlington track, proved exciting, but obviously a much slower race than with motor cycles. Errol I who was challenging Errol II, was the victor, his time was 1 min 47 2/5th secs.
Sunday 11 August 1935 (text source Eastbourne Gazette 14 August 1935) DIRT TRACK RACING MIDGET CARS COMPETE AGAIN Another exciting car event was the attraction of Sunday's meeting the Eastbourne Dirt Track at Arlington. This time the two competitors put up a far more interesting race than they did at their first meeting. Erroll was the victor again, but he managed to reduce the time from 1 min. 47 2/5th secs, to 1 min. 44 2/5th secs. Perhaps, if midget car racing this track is to continue, these riders will become more accustomed to the bends.
