Kym Bonython one time promoter at the Adelaide Rowley Park Speedway passed away on the 19th March 2011 at age 90. During his time at the speedway Kym raced stockcars and midgets and had some memorable crashes. His life was much more than speedway as he was a Patron of the Arts, owner of an Art Gallery and promoter of Jazz concerts bringing many top name acts to Australasia. In his speedway days he was responsible for getting stockcar racing established in South Australia, he also bought many USA drivers down under for their first visits including Bob Tattersall, Marshal Sargent, Mel Kenyon, and Gary Patterson. He also supported Barry Butterworth on his first Australian visit.
