The Mamba Midget - I think used in the 1970s, possibly by Midget Auto Club driver Don Bray. Can any site colleague tell me more - and a photo or photos would be excellent.

Are you sure about a midget called The Mamba? It doesn't ring a memory bell for me. If there was one and it was MARC driven by Don Bray it would have been sometime between 1971 and 1975?

There was an article about Midget racing in Custom Car back in 1972 (I think). The caption was "John Graham's neat Mamba, powered by a side-mounted 1098 Emery Imp."

The Mamba looks rather interesting. Akin to being a front-engine midget but appears to be very low? I'd love to see some more details on its construction. What happened to it?

There have been similar 'long' cars in the USA. They called them 'stretched' midgets. I have no answer what they were all about. There's a photo of one of them in the Don Radbruch album called Don Radbruch's USA Veterans and has this caption "1953, Des Moines, Iowa. Don Branson in a stretched Kurtu Midget 183 Offy" PS: I didn't think I could do it but seem to have been able to transfer Don Radbruch's photo to here. Attachments:

If any one is interested the featured Mamba was run by Hedley Leyton who worked for Radio Luxemburg and raced with number 208
