I look at the midget car videos across the site from places like New Zealand and Argentina and the varoom and spectacle of these drivers makes the UK's GP midget drivers very much the so-called 'apple pie fame' variety. There's no way our lot can compare with the aforementioned racers. Sad but very true.

Sorry, but I have to defend our gpmc drivers, they held their own against a South African team, with considerably more horspower than our cars, winning the series over there. And last meeting at Buxton Raceway, the trophy race, The first three cars across the line were .3 of a second between them, and had been like that for a good few laps, very watchable, and nailbiting stuff. There have been 13 different race winners so far this season, so there are no forgon conclusions about who will win.

I have only seen the GP midgets race at Birmingham Wheels - perhaps a track not suitable for them? What I would like to see, and it seems there is not any, is a youtube video of them racing. As most of them look like mini-F1 formula cars I fail to see how they can generate the action of the REAL dirt track midgets as I have seen it on the clips that have been posted on here over the past couple of years. I don't discredit the GPMC drivers it's just that I think the cars they race do not create the thrills of the action seen elsewhere. They may be fast but the racing does not give the action of the dirt track midgets used in the rest of the world. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

NOW your talking, if its spectacle you want, you need dirt, couldnt agree more, but MGPC do put up some exellent racing, but (in my opinion) be better to watch on a loosish surface. Thats despite me writing off my Midget on a fence post at Sheffield.
