Following the Grand Prix Midgets return to Scotland over the last few seasons I am told that two Scottish drivers will be joining the grid in the double header at Knockhill/Cowdenbeath this year.
My understanding is that they have built their own cars too.
As soon as I have more details I will post here.

Ah, Scottish drivers. I saw the great Tommy Forster and Andy Dodds race a few times for the Dave Hughes team in Scotland back in the 1950s. There were quite a few others but Forster and Dodds were the only ones who also can down south to drive. I think Forster took his own life having suffered depression.

How far has the Scottish development gone? Isn't there a thread about the venture elsewhere on the site? Will proposed Scottish cars be in action with the GP Midget group go to Scotland shortly?

Scottish specs and English specs are a little different. Their cars are likley to meet our rules, but several of our cars will definately NOT FIT their tech rules. And I hear that the GMPC committee were colaborated, sorry consulted on the matter

What a shambles all this Anglo-Scottish link to build cars is.

PS: Yuk! Yuk! Yuk! More rear engined cars according to the website link referred to in a Post about three items previous to this. Oh for the glorious 1950s days of the Skirrows at Stepps and the Scottish speedways of that time. And Scottish born drivers like Eric Liddell, Andy Dodds and Tommy Forster to carry the Tartan colours in midget car racing.

Scottish Midgets appear to have disappeared for the moment. No sign of cars completed, or progress of any kind eitherfrom Scotland or GMPC.

I can't see this developing as there is no communication in either direction. It won't be down to the promoter - it's entirely up to the drivers to get the class up and running. There are more than enough classes up and running up there (and down here) in any case.

Is there any news as yet of the proposed Scottish-built midgets and the start of domestic racing there as yet?
