I would have thought the two cars cornering (clockwise) were earlier than 1934. Over to you Derek........

This photo is from Crystal Palace. It was taken in 1934 and shows the early BSA inspired Palmer Specials.
The guys from the Front wheel drive BSA owners club have details of the various 3 wheel BSA's that were converted by Reville and Palmer.

This photo was taken at Lea Bridge in 1937. It appeared in both the Coventry Programmes and Lea Bridge progs.

It's a bit grainy, but my thoughts are that it is Crystal Palace 1934. The car leading looks like one of Victor Gillows Riley Specials, the other car, one of Revilles BSA inspired Palmer Specials.

midget hot stuff[/img] This is Crystal Palace 1934. That's all I know. Does any site member have more on the incident - and the car is obviously racing clockwise rather than ant-clockwise? Hot stuff, all the same. Attachments:

I have seen a couple of versions of this photo. I think there is one in Getty Immages. The one I am most familure with appeared in Light car magazine around june/july 34.
To my mind it was typical Reville ie getting as much publicity as he could for his Crystal Palace venture. Other photos of Crystal Palace 34 also show the cars going clockwise.
I have showed this photo to some of the guys in the VSCC and they suggest that the car is a GN. They also reckon that the photo was staged! There are a lot of Hollywood B movies wherethe driver leaps from a burning car!!!
Derek Bridgett Newcastle-under-Lyme

Surely not (says I with tongue in cheek). Seriously, I think there's a lot in what you say Derek. Somewhere around there's an "amazing midget crash photo" of a Skirrow" which has similar stunt hallmarks done just for a publicity photo. I think it may have been at Lea Bridge in 1937.
