Hi John
I had sent these to David Kipling of www.oldstox.com and he suggested
that I also send them to you.
I worked at Brafield Stadium between 1963 - 1977, playing pre-race and
between-race music and generally assisting with the running of the
meetings. Having a life-long interest in Stock Car Racing and short-
circuit racing in general, I have, from time to time picked up various
bits of 'memorabilia'. I met Dave Hughes briefly in the late '60s when
he was living in a flat above a jewellers shop in Wellingborough Road,
Northampton. I tried to get him to come to a meeting at Brafield as a
sort of 'guest of honour' but he refused as he wasn't interested in
stock cars, the midgets were his thing.
The attached items must be mega rare and were got hold of by a friend,
Steve Robinson, from family members of, I believe, Arch Hanscombe who
raced in Dave Hughes' team. Steve's grandfather, Bill Robinson, also
raced in the team, hence Steve's interest in the subject.
If these are of interest, please feel free to put them on your site; I
did have a look at your site but not being very computer literate, I
couldn't figure how to put them on!
If I come across anything else of relevance in my collection, would
you like me to send it to you?
Best Wishes for the New Year
