I was hoping to go along to the Midget meeting at Aldershot on Sunday but was instead working up at an Autograss meeting in Yorkshire. This class 8 car caught my eye - the grass track specials are normally rear engine but this one is (I think) unique with the motor in front. I did not get a chance to see the car in the pits or talk to the driver to find out about engine size, etc but if I do get any more info I will pass it on. The Autograss specials are worth a look if you like your racing sideways on dirt!! The car is driven by Andy Patrick from Scunthorpe by the way

Well the front-engine grass tracker is far more acceptable than Ninja Karts! And it does look more like a midget than some cars doing the rounds these days. How many f/engine auto grass track cars are there?

I don't know too much about the Autograss scene as I've only been to the one meeting but it was the only one I saw. When I used to frequent grass racing a little more often in the late 70s there were quite a few front engine cars, most of them short oval Superstox without the bumpers.

I have often thought that non-ironed up superstox could be a great non-contact formula for the ovals. Probably as a UK version of Modifieds - something between midgets and sprint cars?

And out of interest has anyone had any feedback from Ireland recently?
