Attached photos by Graham Skillen via Peter Cook ( thanks guys) show the transmission on Ivan Dutton's Skirrow. I understand the countershaft housings and the clutches are Rudge solo type. My car has had Norton clutches badly fitted and they are too wide the rear one fouling the chassis. I need Rudge types as shown in the pics if anyone can help or suggest a source. Attachments:

Might as well post another one! Don't you just love that engine. I think I have everything needed to build one. I tried to buy a complete ex Dave Hughes 8/80 this summer without luck. Currently the chassis is stripped and all the dirt got out of the moving parts. The rear drive shaft was made of case hardened mild steel and had twisted badly. We have made a new one. The front seems to be alright. Clutches and time are the only impediments to completion. Terry Attachments:

Sounds like it's coming along well Terry, which is really great to hear. Sorry, I don't know a source of Rudge clutches but curiosity demands I ask: where on earth were you chasing an ex-Dave Hughes motor?

Really? Well, it's shame you didn't get it. Had it ended up back in a Skirrow, I guess it would have felt right at home!

Terry, have you tried the Rudge Enthusiasts Club.... www.rudge.co.uk you have to be a member to buy parts but could be worth it.

Try your luck on oldtimespeedway because there's a lot of guys on there with vintage speedway bikes like the Rudge, Douglas and so forth and they might be able to help you out. It's worth a try I would reckon.
