Can anyone help with info on pre-war Stoke and other tracks driver 'Skid' Martin, who may have also been involved with attempts to popularise the car formula at Southampton? I think he was also a stunt driver and worked in the USA. He may have worked for the famous Reg Kavanagh stunt group before and after the war years. What was Martin's real name etc please? and thank you if you can help me.

'Skid' Martin drove for Lea Bridge in 1937 but does not appear to have had a league berth in 1938.

Skid Martin drove for the Stoke "Potters" in 1938. He was indeed a stunt driver, he missed a couple of meeting when he was performing stunts at Coventry and Stoke.
During the winter of 38/39 he toured South Africa with the Ken Kavanagh stunt team. As far as I know he never raced Midgets in 39.
I think his real name was Syd Martin.
