Here is info on a book I published titled "Small Cars, Brave Hearts, Midget Auto Racing in Northern Ohio 1935-1950". The book is hardcover, 11" x 8-1/2", 226 pages and contains over 400 black and white photos. It is a chronological history of Midget racing in Northern Ohio, and covers major racetracks such as Ft. Miami Speedway, Sportsman Park, Akron Rubber Bowl, Canfield Speedway, and some lesser known tracks. With record setting crowds and lucrative purses, nationally known drivers such as Duane Carter, Ronney Householder, Mel Hansen, Ralph Pratt, Paul Russo, Al Bonnell and so many others were drawn to this region and were racing six nights a week. Attached is a photo of the front cover. The book can be purchased directly from me for $20 plus mailing. Attachments:

Hi Kiwikid34, Hope you don't mind me e-mailing you direct. I hate to have my e-mail address out in public view for all the internet loonies to see. I can add a little more about the book. It took over 2+ years to do. When I started the book I knew very little about the midget racing from the past. Since then I have a real fascination with them. I have mailed books to Australia (single and three). I have not mailed any to England. As I mentioned the price of the book is $20.00 U.S. What I would need is a mailing address then I can go to the post office and get the mailing cost. We had 500 books printed and we have around 35 left. This is all by word of mouth and two internet sites offer it for sale, The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Coastal 181. You can check both sites for the book being the real deal. It also is copyrighted, and has an ISBN number. We (my wife and I) have been able to find and visit with the families of the drivers and owners. As everyone has mentioned if I had not done this book, there would probably never be done and all the history and photos of midget racing in northern Ohio would be lost forever. Whatever else I can do or answer please let me know. Ron in Ohio
NOTE FROM KIWIKID34: I will get a further update on the above PM so that other members who want a copy can follow this through. I will try to get the links for the two sites mentioned by Ron then make an attempt to put them live on here. Thanks KK34.
