I think your first pic is Spike Rhiando Not in my reckoning - Rhiando had more wavy-type hair according to the photos I have seen of him. Could it be Gene Crowley?

I may be wrong, I've got the pic somwhere, but cant find it. I compared the pic with all my photos, the only one that looked similar was a 1950s photo of Spike.

The photo of the dapper gentleman in the cravat is Jimmy Raynes.
Jimmy began his midget car racing career in Gillow Rileys later he threw his lot in with Skirrow.
After the war he was a partner in a small engineering company that did some work on a F2 Cromard that was raced by Basil deMattos on the lesser Grand Prix tracks of Europe.

Sorry Rod (and Trevor), but even allowing for having aged etc, I can't see this being the same guy as Trevor's first photo. I've looked at lots of pix of Spike and in none of them does he resemble the gent we have here. Attachments:

The second photo, ie the guy with a plaster on his nose might just be Frank Chiswell.
It is just a guese he looks a bit similar to Frank.
Then again he might just be a mechanic or Franks brother, who raced bikes at Preston the same time as Frank did;in other words I don't know!
