Dave Hughes has been reported as taking his Skirrow team to Milan, Italy, for meetings. It must have been before 1958-59 because the troupe was virtually finished by then. Anyone know more of this visit.

Although I don't have much info, I'm sure my late grandad, Graham Beattie raced in Italy on banked circuits and had a bad accident in which he fractured his skull hitting a post over the top of the track.
He kept his helmet with the cracks as a momemto and it's still in my granma's loft to this day.
As per my recent thread I'm looking for info on my grandad's exploits. Anyone know of any photo's from around his era?

An interesting item indeed but this was 1966. It was obviously featuring two formulas as speedway bikes were also involved. Of further interest in regard to Italy is a possible tour there by the Dave Hughes Skirrow group, most likely to Milan, and before 1958. What more is known about the Mike Parker organised event at Rimini. Besides Graham Beattie, what other midget car drivers were involved?
