Correct, Dirtpilot, the picture is an edited photo, the original also shows Acorn Dobson. This was the last time these cars raced. Dad fitted the JAP motor in the car he used (They were all (as for as I can ascertain) owned by B.V. (Or possibly by E.O.Spence himself?) Dads JAP was such an improvement that E.O. gave hm the car, on condition that Dad fitted the rest on the B.V. Midgets with them and any other improvements that Dad made were also done to the rest. The car rested at the back of a garage until 1969 when it was taken for scrap.

Elto was a vertical outboard motor, not a car so that is a midget with a JAP 8/80 motor.

Dads Midget was oridinaly fitted with an ELTO outboad, fitted with the crankshaft vertical, and drive shaft horizontal to drive therear wheels. I believe all the Belle Vue cars were of thas arrangment, hence they were collectivly known as Elto Midgets, hence, Dads car was an Elto Midget, regardless of engine. Wrong, I know, but that seems to be the way it was
