I'm afraid that Ian passed away on Christmas Day two or three years ago.
I believe that before that date he had already sold the car on, Unfortunatly I don't know who he sold the car to.

That's very sad news about Ian Paskin. Now the search is on to find the missing Parker midget 600?

Thanks, that sounds probably right, there a couple of garages along the stretch of road where they were built, I keep intending to call in and ask if thats were they were built The area has changed out of recognition over the years, but these two garages are still standing. From memory, (I was only about 10 or 12) the cars racing at Belle Vue all looked different to each other, I have always thought that they were home built. Could do with a spellchecker on these pages hi rod mike here the garage where the parkers were built stood where the stretford arndale stands today they did move to salford just off regnt rd. many of the cars were home built drivers like ted howell bill hulme bruce blood albert brown derick bennet wilf johnson and many more all built there own cars.the red car at the top of the page is not mike parkers mikes car was restored to its oridgenal blue and is still ownd by mikes daughter who lives just outside blackpool i do have a photo of the car after its restoration when i find out how to put them onthe computor i will post them . any way to get back to the pakers most of them went down south and were raced at tracks like great yarmouth ipswitch st austel infact most of the speedway tracks they had quit a few in the coventry club aswell.last time the midgets raced was at hendersford raceway were the midgets where fareley regular inthe 60s.

There is a spell check. It comes up below the message box in which you are actually writing - the third box along actually marked 'Spell Check'. That was interesting to see the Parker midgets raced at Hednesford in the 1960s. That certainly is news to me - many thanks. Midgets from the Grand Prix Midget Car Club still race there during the season.

The red midget on the top of the first page is not Mike Parker's car but a Parker Midget, as built by a man I am certain was named Bob Parker. hi rod mike here the garage where the parkers were built stood where the stretford arndale stands today they did move to salford just off regnt rd. many of the cars were home built drivers like ted howell bill hulme bruce blood albert brown derick bennet wilf johnson and many more all built there own cars.the red car at the top of the page is not mike parkers mikes car was restored to its oridgenal blue and is still ownd by mikes daughter who lives just outside blackpool i do have a photo of the car after its restoration when i find out how to put them onthe computor i will post them . any way to get back to the pakers most of them went down south and were raced at tracks like great yarmouth ipswitch st austel infact most of the speedway tracks they had quit a few in the coventry club aswell.last time the midgets raced was at hendersford raceway were the midgets where fareley regular inthe 60s.

Hi Rod: i've dug out some of my old paperwork on the Parker. The cars were built by Bob Parker and the company name was Ordsal Motors, 1.276 Chester-rd, Stretford. I even have the phone number if you want it. Anyway enough of that. I think Bob Parker also had the what i call the lawn mower shop not far from the old White City, I have some where a bill head from B PARKER. JAP agents. I remem ber the shop and going there with my dad for parts but all i can remember was loads of lawn mowers. Was this the same Bob Parker? The shop stood on the right coming out of Manchester, just near the junction with City Road. When I learn how to scan and post stuff on the computor i will post all the spec sheets and what-not for the Parker Midgets.

My comment is slightly off the actual topic theme. It concerns the title PARKER Midgets. I think I am correct in that they were NOT called that as respect for promoter Mike Parker. I have been assured the title Parker Midget refers to Bob Parker, who designed and built the original cars in the 1950s. Slap my wrist if I am wrong!!!
