What a treasure trove of historic USA books about midgets there are on that link. It shows the popularity of the sport in the USA and makes us here in the UK 'very poor country cousins' in regard to midget car racing.

Oh dear! It might have been better if that link hadn't appeared here - I can see several titles there I already covet! 'Silent Speedways' and 'Memories of the California Jalopy Racing Association' would suit me nicely for starters. Actually, I wonder if, even in the US, there is enough of a market for some of these more obscure books to make it worthwhile publishing them - but it's great that they do anyway.

In most cases the authors were involved in the racing. The Tattersall book is neat because it covers his tours to Australia in addition to his USAC career.
