I already wanted to rush off to Argentina to see these dangerous looking things, after hearing all about them in Jerry Fisher's excellent Short Circuit mag articles. This video just confirms that feeling. Never mind seeing them, I'd like to have a go in one!

I spent a pleasant 20 minutes or so watching the various bits and pieces on midget car racing. Action like this is spectacular especially the broadside cornering. A very different game to the sport in England where its more akin to F1 racing but then I guess the GP label tells us all. It is just that - minaturised Grand Prix racing. I'm going back to the youtube - I guess that's more like the old days when the Skirrows and Eltos raced, or when the Yanks invaded us in 1948 - as the film clip of them at Stamford Bridge again shows a different concept in regard to midget car racing. My advice to the GP Midget people is get off the tarmac ovals and show us real spectacle by going to more meetings on the dirt tracks - those used by Brisca F1 and F2 would probably welcome you with open arms if you show them the two film/video clips I've mentioned.

Most of the gp midgets would be totally unsuitable for dirt, and most of the drivers worry to much about their cars....
