This topic is being discussed under "WORLD OF MIDGETS - Argentina". Please continue the topic here. Thank you, administrator.PREVIOUS MESSAGES: WEE WILLIE: July 20 2009: The photos from Argentina are superb. How does one manage to get photos into a posted message? Is it very complicated to do? HAFLINGER121: July 20 2009: It's been bothering me too weewillie, I was experimentally trying to add a scan to something on here the other day and couldn't get it done. You need to NOT use the 'Quick Reply' box, but click on the 'reply' icon at the foot of the previous message. That brings up a much more complicated window. Fourth from the left of the bottom row of icons right above the smileys, is 'add image'. I haven't tried it yet, but reckon that'll do the job. And yeah, those Argentinian cars look really exciting - wish they raced 'em here! WEEWILLIE: JULY 21 2009: Hi haflinger: I found 'add image' - but how do you drag your own image into the message? All this tech stuff beats me somewhat. Thanks for your help. i agree with what you say about the Argentine midgets. They look good and we need them in UK then we can get racing on dirt where midget cars really belong.-weewillie. HAFLINGER121: JULY 21 2009: weewillie: I see what you mean. I tried the drag and drop thing and it crashes the message board. And alfaboy is just taking the wossname now, posting vids as well! He obviously has it well sussed but, with all due respect, I don't think his English is going to be up to telling us techno-dummies how to do it! And my Argentinian certainly isn't. Anyone else help? ALFABOY: JULY 21 2009: Hi hallfinger to post photos going first to imagesshack imageshack.us/clik on the window :select file to upload and select the file from your pc when the photo was complete up load (you can see this right down) copy the first of 3links and stick them in the message and vuoala!!!!!!!!!! i hope i can help you!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm!!! Interesting Post by alfaboy - but I'll leave it to haflinger to give the instructions the first try. I took a look at the link and it looks as if you have to pay 8 dollars to join and use it!!!

I've got a little further on weewillie. A hunt around on the 'net proved that we are far from being the only ones who can't figure out how to do this on Pro Boards! And, somewhat irritatingly, the 'help' section doesn't help at all. One website I found, which explains quite a lot of complex stuff, says about posting pics: "simply click the image button and add the url of your photo in between the two img/img marks". Simply, eh? It also said that this should be possible even in the Quick Reply box.
Problem is, stuff from our own collections, (mine anyway) doesn't appear to have its own URL appended. And I think what alfaboy is saying - and thanks very much for trying to put us straight alfaboy, much appreciated - is that it must first be uploaded to an on-line gallery-style thing. Then it will have its own URL, which you could add to your posting.
It all seems like far too much trouble to me, which is unfortunate, as I think photos, programme scans etc, would be be really useful/interesting on here.
I have found a couple of other website forums where they have an add image box, and when you click it, the box splits in half and offers a choice of "image name" for stuff that's within your own PC's files, or URL if it isn't. Seems far more sensible to me.

Also my apologies John, for going way off topic in the Argentina section, but I just wanted to make sure the person who posted the pics (alfaboy) did actually see that we were having a bit of trouble with this. I'll try not to do it again!

Has anyone tried this link out other than haflinger and our Argentine friend alfaboy. If it works I have a few oldie photos I will place on the site. Maybe we will need a photos section to find them more easily - but will they damage the sites amount of bandwith. Anyone know more.

THIS IS A REPLY TO A SEARCH MESSAGE I POSTED ELSEWHERE. I HOPE THAT IT PROVIDES AN ANSWER. MY THANKS TO A POSTER NAMED SCHUMI. ADMINISTRATOR. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It depends on whether the photos are already online, or if they are your own.
If they are online, all you need to do is paste the url to wherever you want the photo to appear, highlight it, and click the little picture symbol (between the globe and mail signs) which are on the reply button. This should surround the link in tabs, which make the photo show up.
If it's one of your own pictures, you need to upload them to one of the free hosting websites, such as photobucket or webshots. Register, then follow the instructions to upload your pictures. Once you've done that you should get a small box under your photo with the url. Copy that, and follow the steps in the first paragraph.

OK John, thanks for that. So the situation is almost exactly what I figured it was; you can only put your own stuff on if it first goes to a webhost of some kind. Nevertheless, I think it may be worth it so that we can all share pix, programmes, etc. I'll have a go at it when I'm not quite so busy.

HERE"S MORE ADVICE FROM ANOTHER SITE, POSTED BY T.N.T. IT READS:::: Have your proboards site open in one window while in another look at a picture from another website that you want to transfer. When you find that picture, RIGHT CLICK on it and go to Properties Cut and Paste the location and then go to your proboards site. As you are in the reply mode, click on the picture of a frame and you should have a bracket and another the same with a / in it. Paste the location - properties into the gap between the brackets and click on preview This should have your picture now on your proboards site

HERE"S SOME ADVICE I FOUND VIA A GOOGLE SEARCH:::
Uploading an IMAGE CODE/IMG CODE from the Online Photo Album/Account In order to post on ProBoards Forum you must have an account with an online Photo Album/blog/journal with any number of photo websites available, i.e. Imageshack, Glowfoto, PhotoBucket, Xanga, Flickr ...etc. I have Glowfoto, PhotoBucket and Xanga. PhotoBucket is however the easiest to use here. If you are unfamiliar with these Photo Blog sites, I would suggest checking them out and registering for an account on at least one. Once you have done so, you may upload your photos from your computer into your account, creating your own photo album(s). All of the above sites immediately generate the BBC and HTML codes you need for posting your photos on to blogs, message boards, etc. I can include in our functions here a code for Image Shack that will allow you upload from your computer and it automatically creates a photo link hosted by Image Shack. If enough people are interested in creating an Image Shack Account I will add the code here. You would be able to use the Image Shack hosting and continue to use other Photo Blog sites as well, such as Photobucket, Flickr...etc. Assuming that you have a Photo Blog account here is the procedure for posting a photo/image. ********** Method One 1. Copy the Photo IMAGE CODE generated by the your Photo Blog account. Here's what the IMAGE CODE looks like: Code: Here's the image when code is pasted in Message Box: 2. Open New Thread in the Board you wish to post in and Paste your Photo IMAGE Code in the Message Box Paste: Code: 3. Submit 4. If you want to modify or change image you simply delete the current IMG code and Paste a new one. ********** Method 2 ... Easier ....that being said .... there is still another way you can go about this using the editing options provided above. 1. Open New Thread in Board you wish to post in. 2. In the second row of editing icons above, the 4th button from the left is a picture frame (between the network and email button), It is all you need for basically the same procedure. Click on the Insert Image Button/picture frame... you will get this (without the extra spaces) in the message box: [ img ] [ /img ] 3. Insert your DIRECT LINK address (the one starting with http://) for your photo between the tags. [ img ]"Your DIRECT LINK Here"[ /img ] ...or... You can simply type the appropriate tags at the beginning and end of the URL DIRECT LINK address. 3. Submit 4. If you want to modify or change image you simply delete the current IMG code and Paste a new one. I hope that helps. If you have and problems please do not hestitate to ask. .j.

I tried as best I could the second suggestion. It gives the img as a download but doesn't actually Post it on site. The photo shows the Atom Car - I think at Rayleigh - about 1954 or 1955. The car(s) were never raced. I spent about two hours following the guide in the previous Post. They didn't work by putting photos directly on to the site - at least for me! Attachments:

Well I can see an image sent by you on my PC. It also says that if you click on it that it will enlarge the photo. I tried that and happened. Can you now specify in an easy guide just what you did? It looks as though you have at last solved this problem?

OK. I've now registered with ImageShack, and figured out how to get photos to appear with posts. So far so good. But can anyone tell me why my pix have only their dimensions shown underneath, and not the 'Click To Enlarge' message everyone else's photos seem to have? I've even tried posting a gigantic image in the hope that ProBoards software will recognise it as being on the cinema poster scale, and create a smaller image with the 'Click To Enlarge' message under it. It doesn't. Any ideas anybody?

Try this:
(1) Open up a new thread box. (2) In the space below the SUBJECT there is another panel that says CHOOSE FILE. Click the reference in here to add the reference of the jpg you are about post. (3) Then go to ADD TAGS. Go to the bottom line, move four spaces along and click. It should bring down a double reference img. In between these two img references again exactly enter place the same jpg reference that is carried in CHOOSE FILE. (4) Now go to POST REPLY and send your message. That should bring up the photo on the site.
This seems to work okay for me. administrator, Midget Car Panorama.
