I remember seeing a film in the late 1940s starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in which midget cars USA-style were featured. I cannot remember the film's title. Must have been about 1948 or 1949.

The film was 'Buck Privates Come Home' made in 1947. Louis Tomei did the stunt driving in a car owned and raced by Roy Simmons. Besides Bud Abbott and Lou Costello (he got in the car for the film!) others involved were Don Beddoe, Beverly Simmons, Joan Fulton, Tom Brown, Russell Hicks, Nat Pendleton and Donald McBride.

I did a youtube check for a trailer from the film. It came up but no mention of midgets was made. The film seemed to be a musical comedy and also starred the Andrews Sisters and a masive jitterbug session. However, somewhere the film must have included midgets as it's mentioned in "Mighty Midgets" by Jack C Fox, and on pages 160 and 161 besides a mention of the film there's also a photo showing Lou Costello sitting in a midget car.

The film you have probably foud is from 1941, called 'Buck Privates'. The film 'Buck Privates Come Home' was a 1947 sequel. I couldn't get anything about it on youtube film trailers either. Is it out there?
