MIDGET CAR SPEEDWAY
Alderman Rymill said the midget car meeting to be held this year was something new, and all those people who regretted the passing of speedway would have the opportunity of seeing speedway midget cars. It would be held at the aerodrome site, which he thought would prevent anyone from worrying about noise.

MIDGET CAR RACING
Although the midget car racing should have proved one of the major attractions Carnival Week, both for thrills and spills, the 1,000- strong crowd who lined the bumpy oval track at Pebsham Airfield Saturday night saw nothing to compare with the excitement previously provided at Hastings the motor cycle speedway. The only local driver in Saturday night’s racing was Bob Sivyer, the former motor cycle speedway rider, who was a member of the Hastings Saxons team. He drove well to take second place in the Carnival Championship with 10 points. First position was taken by Wilf Davis, who not only won every one of his races in the championship, to obtain maximum 12 points, but also won the Pebsham Handicap, an eight lap race in which six cars competed.
The announcer was Mr M Hickman, hon. secretary of the Hastings and East Sussex Car Club which is holding its carnival gymkhana today on the front line at 5:30pm.
Scores of the individual riders were: Wilf Davis 12; Bob Sivyer 10; Dave Hughes 8; Jimmy McLean 6; Dave Goosey, Geoff Green Ted Taylor, Ron Major 5; Jim Martin, Walt Perry 2
