I would like to see opinions from group members in regard to a revitalisation of MIDGET CAR PANORAMA. In what way can we regenerate the enthusiasm that was shown in the early days of the group - now quite a few years ago? Please give your opinions as to how a once ultra-active forum can be regenerated. And, more, importantly, what mistakes were previously made that led to the present sad state of affairs? Thank you. Moderator, MIDGET CAR PANORAMA.

I would spend more time on the site but have to confess I find it very confusing to navigate my way around on it. Probably it is an age thing. I am not up with all this high tec stuff, for example my phone only makes phone calls! Thank you Regards

Moderator, MIDGET CAR PANORAMA. There has been some action recently which is encouraging. So far as the historical side of midget car racing in Britain is concerned that side of racing has been adequately covered - there cannot be much more to be recalled? Grand Prix Midgets in the UK attracts reasonable support from the racing fraternity and that aspect is probably reflected on here. However, what does appear to be lacking is comment from supporters of the formula. But the mystery here is how many dedicated midget car supporters are there in Britain? And, more importantly, are they acquainted with the existence of MIDGET CAR PANORAMA and enthusiastic enough to debate GP activities on the forum?

I now think there will always be a low response to messages posted on the forum for several reasons. Firstly because for a forum dedicated basically to midget car racing in the UK, most of the historical factors in regard to the formula since its 1934 start at Crystal Palace have been aired fully - and in their time created some excellent debate. One can only say so much about what has happened in the past. I think by and large that factor has basically been achieved on here. Then we must consider and accept that so far as Britain and Europe are concerned, as a formula albeit a well organised one by the Grand Prx Midget group, it is sadly very small time. Since the forum's start nigh on 10 years ago it has attracted just over 300 members. In that time, for various reasons, many of them have gone from the forum. To be realistic it would indicate that now abut 10 per cent of that 300-plus membership are still active - if my maths are correct that means 30 people. Going even further into basics, many of those would only be readers of Posts rather than participating in the threads that are brought forward. In this respect, much the same appears to be the case elsewhere with two FACEBOOK groups dedicated to midget car racing - one with the same title as this forum, the other is GRAND PRIX MIDGETS. On both of them it appears to me that only a small number of members actively participate in the threads and photos that appear. Where does that leave this particular forum? BUSINESS AS USUAL. Whenever I feel a topic in regard to midget car racing needs bringing to light I will do so. The forum is still very much in business while I hold the administrative role. I have just one more word to say about the forum - ENJOY!

I think you have hit the nail right on the head John. With regard to some of your postings I for one wasn't aware that there are modern cars still racing! I feel we are all living back in the halcyon days when there was a lot more activity in this four-wheeled sport. I don't know if that is a good thing or not but certainly the case with some of the two-wheeled followers. All I can say is keep up the good work that you do on these sites and more power to your elbow whatever that means! Stu

Besides this excellent forum, I am also a visitor to FB forums GRAND PRIX MIDGETS, MIDGET CAR PANORAMA and SHORT CIRCUIT CAR RACING which also mention midget car racing. Sadly I notice the same trait with all of them - for many days now none have carried anything in regard to present day UK racing. Rather worrying?
