Sent by Steve Magro: Mike Raymond writes on Bob Tattersall. Great news. "A real injustice of sorts will be corrected tomorrow evening in the United States when 45 years after his death, American speedcar champion and decorated US Word War 2 ace Bob Tattersall is finally inducted into the US Auto Club's Hall of Fame. Bob 'Two Gun' Tattersall was the phenomenon who breezed into this Country attired in colorful clothes and cowboy boots and packed crowds north of 30,000 into the Sydney Showgrounds between 1959 and 1971 driving an array of Offenhauser cars that were either the best of the best or the worst of the rest. The showmanship of the gifted Tat was there for all to see and hear. The autograph line to spend time with him went for hours after a race meeting. He became close friends with the local drivers and his longtime pal Phillip McGee, who now lives in the mid west, will escort Bob's lovely wife Dee to his induction ceremony. I have penned words for USAC executive Dicky Jordan to precede Bob's Hall of Fame induction that will also honour three time USAC champion Jimmy Davies and modern day NASCAR hero Tony Stewart.."
