i stll look at what is happening on the forum Thanks Norbie. You are one member who seems to still have an interest in what takes place here. Are we the only two who have interest I wonder? All the best mate.

I do look at the forum alot but not always under my login as it some times it dose not like my login. I went to Aldershot to see the Midgets racing brought back some good memories and met up with a couple of racers i knew in my racing days John Lowe and Leon Smith (then racing Hot Rods)

i stll look at what is happening on the forum June 10th, 2016 - Daphne Warburton
I am most interested in the site and look at it on a library computer on almost all Friday afternoons. My late husband, Bruce Warburton, was a member of the team at Belle Vue, 1935-1938. Derek Bridgett's book, which is mostly about Midget Car racing at Belle Vue pre-war, is brilliant. It is very well written and well worth its small price. I and my family thoroughly recommend it. We each have a copy!

This was posted nearly five years ago. No responses. IS THERE A FUTURE FOR MIDGET CAR PANORAMA?[fontHsize="4"]The group trundles on but the fire that stimulated it so much in the early days - some years ago - seems to have vanished. Out of interest, if you are still logging on and see this message, just to indicate how many people are following matters, send over a reply as follows - "I still look at what is happening on the group." Whilst there are few contributors now, there do appear to be people visiting as guests and also the occasional new joiner so I don't think all is lost - it's a wealth of material for people to sift through.

That's a fair comment ovaltrack! On further reflection I tend to agree with you.Whilst there are few contributors now, there do appear to be people visiting as guests and also the occasional new joiner so I don't think all is lost - it's a wealth of material for people to sift through.

That's a good question Norbie. I am not sure any are members of this forum although I have contact details for Steve (Ron) Elliott who was on the tour - I send him the occasional Midget Club heritage newsletters but have not had any response. Same is true of later drivers as well although I am still getting replies from the likes of Frank Boyles, Barry Martin and yourself of course which is much appreciated. Of the other names on the Jamaica trip list, we often wondered what happened to John Holtham and Joe Therstappen. I've Googled them several times over the years to see if I could find them but to no avail :-(
Martin Robertson is still around as well - I think I should probably try and get some more info from those of you who were there. It's 50 years next year...
The reports tell us there were 18 drivers on the trip.
1 Paul Emery 4 John Smith 6 Tony Stubbs 7 David Underhill 9 John Holtham 12 Cliff Davis 16 Martin Robertson 19 Steve Elliott 20 Eric Fretten 24 John Nichols 25 John Graham 26 Joe Therstappen 27 Andrew Adams 29 Brian Spicer 41 Pete Smith 69 Peter Jopp 99 Peter Stapleton 208 Don Bray
