"Your forum has reached its storage limit for attachments."
I have received the above message. It would be appear the forum has reahed its maximum bandwith in regard to posting photos. Seemingly, Proboards are prepared to NOW SELL extra bandwith if required.

OK John, I don't like ANYTHING about the way this has all been changed overnight, and that includes the tiny letters it's writing this in, which I can hardly read even with my glasses on. Yes, I know there appears to be a facility at the top left to change the Font size but it won't do it, or maybe only the eventual message when posted will be in the larger size.
I tried to post a photo as a test and it won't do that either, all I got was a message saying that the board had exceeded it's photo capacity or similar, much as you did.
I would say it's time to start looking for a different forum host - I hate this already.

Where can we go from here? I hate this as well. And it seems the upsize in type only happens when the message is posted.
And again I got the message in regard to photos when I tried an attachment of the Clinton Dorrell photo.

Ha ha, they can't even get greeding more money in right. Your link only revealed this: "Shopping cart not found. Please navigate back to the forum from which you came."
I have but wish I hadn't had to. We probably need to look around for something better.

After a brief investigation it would seem that simply 'moving somewhere else' may not be that easy or desirable. My first impressions are that most forum hosts don't support images AT ALL and that they expect to be used as 'add-ons' to an existing website, and THAT is where any photos will be uploaded to. This is all very well, but I like the idea of having the pic alongside the comment it refers to. One of my gripes about the Delphi forum attached to the National Hot Rod website is that you can't upload pix and has been one of the reasons behind the migration of much of that forum's traffic to their new Facebook page.
The cost of the extra $3 a month is about £21 a year by my reckoning. Not that bad, but is this coming on top of already existing costs? I have no idea if you are paying ProBoards for the privilege of us all using it - I'd never given it a thought before! That being the case, maybe regular users should chip in, similarly for the increased photo capacity.
This all assumes that we can learn to live with the (probably) many other things we don't like about the new look ProBoards mind you! I have to say, I am gradually getting used to the tiny writing and it hasn't taken long, so maybe....

This site when used as a Proboards message forum is free. Similarly, so had the posting of images been (at least I had never been aware that there was a restriction and at a certain time a charge would be incurred). So far as I can see the limit has come to light now the present "upgrade" has been effected. The photo posting limit certainly caught me by surprise - especially when one bases it against the posting of photos on Google forums where no such restriction exists. An associate site oldtimespeedway currently has more than 4,500 photos posted in more than 400 albums.

I contacted Proboards regarding the now lack of space for photo attachments and their fees. In their reply they suggested more space for photos could be created by deleting photos that were no longer of interest! Admin, Midget Car Panorama.

Photos which are no longer of interest, eh? Well, let's assume anything ever posted here since the dawn of time is still of interest and work from there!
Actually you know, one of our members DID post something a while back about us nearing our maximum capacity for photos, so it must have been obvious if you knew where to look...
Yes, I've noticed that oldtimespeedway seems to have no limits on photo storage - but they don't appear to let you post the pic with the text to which it could, should or might relate. I also find it quite difficult to navigate around their albums, especially if I don't know precisely what I'm looking for or what it might be titled.

Another thing: I've just noticed that they give my "status" as 'God' - presumably one notch down from Administrator - and it has a capital 'G'. Now, I don't believe in it/him and regard all religion as a bunch of fairy stories. But! We might well have members who are believers (and even if we don't, other Proboards forums will) and I shouldn't be at all surprised if they didn't find this description of themselves or others quite offensive.

A further nuisance has emerged: when members log in for the first time to the 'upgraded board' they now also have to reactivate their account. This is a fiddly-affair and must be annoying especially to members who on the old board were Activated. Moderator, Midget Car Panorama.

I agreed with your previous comment and altered the stupid category grade used by Proboards.

The ease of posting photos is v. important and in several other forums I use it can be pretty tedious although once you get the hang of it it's not too bad.
What would we get for the $3 per month? I don't mind paying at least for a while. Let me know.
