I am delighted to see so much interest in the restimulation of interest in Midget Car Panorama. With the Poll closing ins less than 24 hours it proves how much members appreciate this forum and what it tries to achieve. An overwhelming seven members have voted.

Well, it looks as though very few members have any interest in the group. Just seven bothered to reply to the recent Poll. I think there's a saying "...everything has it's day..." and that does tend to indicate what has happened to Midget Car Panorama. But it was fun while it lasted....convince me otherwise. Admin, Midget Car Panorama.

The fact you did not know about the Poll seemingly can only be blamed on the Proboards email system IMO. An email in regard to the Poll was sent via the system to all members. And yes, we are involved with the Facbook group which is great for posting photos but offers little as a debate and history forum which this forum is intended to be...OR WAS AT ONE TIME!!!

I tried to answer your poll but it had closed. I did put a message to you. My late husband was Bruce Warburton, so I am interested in your site. I'm 86 and haven't a computer - am at the library, and don't know if this will reach you. Best regards, Daphne Warburton

John and all, I think the truth is there are only a few people interested enough to keep the discussion going. But that doesn't mean it isn't worth doing
Some like me were going to do things but haven't because we are bogged down in other projects; in my case a book.
One of the problems I must be honest about is that there are two many topics and good stuff is spread all over the place. Maybe we can keep it going amongst a few of us by rationalising the content?
Facebook is, I agree, not good for material of substance - just chatter.
An alternative would be to set up a blog/website which i think might be a simpler and better framework. I am currently doing this for my own purposes and it might be worth looking at. Email me if you want to have a look - I don't want to publish the address yet.

Terry An interesting idea Terry - but at my age I am looking for a simpler way of life. I think your suggestion would be too much for me. I have no intention of taking down this group and will leave, it as no, to float in the internet ether. Thank you for your as always tremendous interest.

[iBen - ]I agree that as a HISTORY website this group needs to stay in being. There is much material that is invaluable for researchers - if they ever get to hear about the group. Re the posting of old photos: when MCP first started the server Proboards allocated a certain number of photos could be placed free of charge. When that option ceased, I did set up a fund to which many members contributed and the facility continued for a couple of years. But as overall interest for MCP appeared to be dwindling I did close that contribution method which meant, sadly, we can no longer place NEW photos on MCP. Elsewhere, on our associate FACEBOOK site we seem to be doing quite well.

The group trundles on but the fire that stimulated it so much in the early days - some years ago - seems to have vanished. Out of interest, if you are still logging on and see this message, just to indicate how many people are following matters, send over a reply as follows - "I still look at what is happening on the group."
